Paltrow puts Hollywood on hold for own cookery show

London, August 30: Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has gone to Spain for her cookery programme, putting Hollywood on hold.

The actress is off for two months as she'll travel Spain along with Chef Mario Batali cooking and sampling the local delicacies with cameras following her every move.

The cookery show is being made by American channel PBS, and is expected to start in October.

Paltrow, 34, who is known for her fussy eating habits, has been ridiculed in the past for her bizarre and strict diet regimes which ranged from macrobiotic to Atkins to vegetarian who eats fish diets.

The actress doesn't eat pork or beef, but is keen to try other delicacies for the show.

"I eat all that stuff. The crazy fish things, the eels, I love it all," Daily Mail quoted her, as saying.

The TV programme will not only serve the country where the actress spent her childhood but will also offer a chance to America to look at Spanish delicacies.

Channel 4 and ITV are currently in a bidding war to win the rights to telecast the cookery show here.

"This is so far removed from what Gwyneth is used to that the show is sure to be a ratings winner. It can't fail," a source said.

"Even if it's proper car-crash TV it will be entertaining at least."
