US President George W Bush will undoubtedly not be pleased with a British artists portrait of him, especially as the latter created it out of porn magazines.
London, Aug 30 : US President George W Bush will undoubtedly not be pleased with a British artist's portrait of him, especially as the latter created it out of porn magazines.
36-year old Jonathan Yeo cut up more than 100 porn magazines to make his portrait of the US President after curators at the Bush Library in America backed out of a commission for him to do a proper portrait.
"I did it for fun, not to offend, but I'm pleased with it. I did it to amuse," The Sun quoted him, as saying.
The portrait was unveiled at the Lazarides Gallery in London's Soho.
The work however, has sparked off outrage in the US, especially in Bush's home state Texas.
Aspokesman for the Republican Party in Mr Bush's home state of Texas said: "This picture is very distasteful. Why would anyone want to make a picture of our President from pornographic material?"
In the UK, a spokesman for Republicans Abroad International also attacked the artwork.
"This will cause outrage in America. Some people will think it's funny - but personally I think it is a cheap stunt," he said.
