Two recruitment consultants -- Niall McCann, 25 and James Burge, 26 - have successfully shaved off five hours off the existing world record for rowing, and now have announced plans to do the Atlantic Rowing Race in December naked.
London, Aug.29 : Two recruitment consultants -- Niall McCann, 25 and James Burge, 26 - have successfully shaved off five hours off the existing world record for rowing, and now have announced plans to do the Atlantic Rowing Race in December naked.
According to The Sun, McCann and Burge rowed non-stop for 67 hours, 24 minutes and 14 seconds. They performed the feat of rowing one million metres (621 miles) on a rowing machine. Battling boredom and fatigue, the Bristol duo set the new record near the Gorilla enclosure at the Bristol Zoo Gardens. They started on Friday and achieved their record on Tuesday afternoon.
In December, Niall and James will use their tiny boat Komale in the Atlantic Rowing Race, and will attempt the challenge naked because being without clothes "cuts down on chafing."
The pair remained clothed during their successful million-metre challenge.
Niall explained: "We were in a family environment, being undressed wouldn't have been appropriate in the circumstances."
