London, Aug.29 : Cuban leader Fidel Castro has predicted that Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama will team up to win the 2008 US presidential election. he Telegraph quoted Castro, who has not been seen in public for 13 months, as saying that should Clinton and Obama decide to run as president and vice-president on the same ticket, "they would be unbeatable".

Castro, 81, wrote in an editorial column in Granma, the Cuban Communist Party's newspaper, that most of the American presidential candidates in the past 48 years had submitted to his exiled foes in Florida, but added that only Jimmy Carter of the 10 presidents he had seen, warranted favourable mention.

Reacting to Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama's calls for the democratisation of Cuba, Castro said all of the candidates seeking Florida's "coveted" Electoral College votes have had to demand a democratic government in Cuba.

The column attributed to Castro - the second published so far this week - made no reference to recent rumours that the ailing leader had died or was dying. Nor did it reveal any information about his exact ailment or condition.
