Multan, Aug 26 : Pakistan Muslim Leage (Quami) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that the Musharrag regime is in contact with the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the ruling party is not averse to talks with Nawaz Sharif's party.
"We are ready for unconditional talks with the Pakistan Muslim Leage-Nawaz as well, and some other parties over the formation of the next government, and the situation would be clear in the next seven to 10 days," he said.
Chaudhry Shujaat said that a national reconciliatory committee headed by the National Assembly Speaker had been formed to discuss the forthcoming general elections.
"If lawyers and judges can unite for their cause, why cannot politicians come together," he added.
Commenting on presidential election, Shujaat said that it would be in accordance with the Constitution.
Shujaat ruled out the possibility of imposition of martial law in the country, and said that national and provincial assemblies would complete their tenure and things would move ahead in accordance with the constitution, the Dawn reported.ANI)
