The Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has recommended that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif should return to Pakistan before September 10.
Islamabad, Aug 26 : The Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has recommended that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif should return to Pakistan before September 10.
PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq said that the CWC meeting here decide the date of the Sharif brothers' return to Pakistan.
"The CWC has recommended the return of our leaders before September 10 keeping in view the national political scenario and people's aspirations. But the date and place of their landing would be decided after the Sharifs' consultations with a high-level party delegation in London," said a PML-N press release.
It said that a party delegation led by Raja Zafarul Haq would soon visit London, probably on August 29, and the PML-N would also take its partners in the All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) into confidence before finalising the date of return.
Commenting on the re-election of President Pervez Musharraf, the PML-N said that the General's re-election from the current assemblies would be immoral and unconstitutional and the PML-N would resist any such attempt politically and constitutionally.
The PML-N also warned that the people of Pakistan would resist any undemocratic and unconstitutional step to prolong "the dictatorial regime" through emergency or martial law, the Daily Times reported.
