Kathmandu, Aug 24 : India has agreed to assist Nepal in reconstruction of services and training centres that were destroyed during the Maoist insurgency.
India has also shown willingness to help Nepal produce skilled manpower in the agriculture sector during a recent meeting of the agriculture ministers of the two countries.
Nepal Agriculture Minister Chabilal Biswakarma, who was part of a seven-member delegation that visited New Delhi recently to study the progress made by India in the agriculture field, said Nepal will submit an agriculture development plan to New Delhi for seeking assistance.
Biswakarma met his Indian counterpart Sharad Pawar during the visit.
"It was agreed that further discussions and implementation would follow after we submit an agriculture development plan on the basis of necessity," Biswakarma was quoted by Kantipuronline, as saying.
As part of the agreement, it was decided to exchange experts in the agriculture sector.
Besides, India will assist in sharing expertise with the agriculture research bodies of Nepal.
During the visit, the Nepalese delegation visited the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Agriculture University in Haryana.
