US court convicts four Pakistanis for burglary

A New York State Supreme Court has convicted four Pakistani nationals for breaking into a house and attacking the owner in August last year.

New York, Aug 22 : A New York State Supreme Court has convicted four Pakistani nationals for breaking into a house and attacking the owner in August last year.

All four-- Azad Malik, 67; Javed Khalid, 53; Shafiq Mohammad, 41, and Hussain Sada, 29-- were convicted of first-degree burglary, Brooklyn District attorney Charles Hynes told the New York Times.

They had intruded the house in an attempt to learn the location of a young Pakistani couple planning to marry against the wishes of the bride-to-be's father, the Dawn quoted prosecutors as saying. ynes said that they forced their way into the West Sixth Street home of 48-year-old Rana Hussain, handcuffed him, and punched and kicked him.

They were demanding Hussain the location of his 19-year-old nephew and Khalid's 15-year-old daughter, who had met at the James Madison High School and planned to marry.
