New York, Aug 22 : The visit of ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Secretary-General Mushahid Hussain to New York has fuelled speculations that the ongoing power-sharing negotiations between the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Islamabad is all set to take a crucial turn.Senator Hussain is expected to brief PPP leaders about the government's position on certain issues which are apparently stalling the power-sharing deal between President Pervez Musharraf and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
Sources were quoted by the Dawn as saying that Benazir, who was scheduled to leave New York for London on Tuesday, decided to extend her stay by another week.
They said that PPP's parliamentary leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim is also returning to New York to join the talks.
Fahim was in New York earlier this month, along with other PPP leaders, for consultations with Benazir following her meeting with Musharraf in Abu Dhabi last month.
