Sydney, Aug.22 : A strip club in Brisbane has said that it would be happy to have Leader of Opposition in the Australian Parliament, Kevin Rudd visit the joint again.
Players International Lounge, which is less than 100 metres from the building housing the Brisbane CBD offices for both Mr Rudd and Prime Minister John Howard, has added "Welcome Mr Rudd" stickers to a sign at the front of the club.
According to news.com.au, this has caused quite a stir among pedestrians, with several stopping for photographs.
General manager Teraza Miers said the sign was tongue-in-cheek, but Rudd would be welcome anyway.
"We just wanted everyone to know he was welcome here and that we would look after him a bit better than overseas did," she was quoted, as saying.
Miers said she couldn't understand the controversy surrounding Mr Rudd's 2003 visit to a New York strip club.
She said the Brisbane club, which enforces a strict dress code, was aimed at businessmen, though women also frequented the club.
Miers, however, kept mum about whether any politicians had paid a visit to the club.
