London, Aug 21 : Cops in Florida were shocked when a man swapped a surface-to-air rocket launched for a pair of sneakers during a gun amnesty programme.

According to Sky News, under the 'Kicks for Guns programme', anyone could swap a weapon for a pair of sneakers, and also not have to worry about getting arrested.

But cops were still left with slackened jaws after an unidentified man exchanged a four-foot-long launcher for a pair of Reeboks for his daughter.

He later told the Orlando Sentinel that he had found the weapon in a shed that he had torn down.

"I didn't know what to do with it, so I brought it here," Ananova.com quoted him, as telling the paper.

However, he insisted that it was not the first time he had tried to get rid of the weapon.

"I took it to three dumps to try to get rid of it and they told me to get lost," the man said.
