List of Oz Ministers visiting strip clubs grows

Australias Defence Minister Brendan Nelson has joined a growing list of ministers who have visited a strip club at some point of time during their lives.

Sydney, Aug.20 : Australia's Defence Minister Brendan Nelson has joined a growing list of ministers who have visited a strip club at some point of time during their lives.

Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd has already revealed that he spent an evening at a strip club in New York four years ago, while Nelson today admitted visiting one almost 30 years ago.

"I remember being at one when I was 20, in Adelaide. I suspect that there are many Australian men and an increasing number of women who have done so as well," he said on ABC Radio.

Warren Snowdon, a Labor backbencher went to the club with Rudd said he did not touch dancers there.

"We didn't act inappropriately and we weren't asked to leave,'' Snowdon said on ABC radio.

Rudd was in New York to represent Australia at the United Nations. He admitted drinking too much and said his recollection of the night was hazy.

Rudd said he had told his wife, Therese, the next day that he had been a "bit of a goose".

"She's a very understanding woman and forgiving woman and I appreciate that very much."

Rudd pointed to Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer as the source of the strip club story.

Downer said he would not dignify Rudd's accusation with a response.
