Pakistan intelligence agencies have warned of terrorist attacks on Parliament House and residential lodges of Senators in retaliation to army operation against the Lal Masjid.

Islamabad, Aug 2 : Pakistan intelligence agencies have warned of terrorist attacks on Parliament House and residential lodges of Senators in retaliation to army operation against the Lal Masjid.

The intelligence agencies have reported to the Interior Ministry that terrorists could hit parliament during session and parliamentarians staying at the lodges, the sources said.

They said that the terrorists could use improvised explosive devices, suicide attack or car bombing to target parliamentarians.

The intelligence agencies recommended enhancement of security in and around Parliament House and the Parliament Lodges, the Daily Times quoted sources, as saying.

The Interior Ministry has ordered walkthrough gates and cameras to be installed at the entrance of the Parliament Lodges.

The district administration has also increased the presence at the lodges, while the Frontier Constabulary is manning the Ministers' Enclave.

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Mohammad Ali said that "foolproof" security arrangements had been made in the entire city.
