Pakistan Peoples Party Chairwoman Benazir Bhutto will leave for New York today on a three-week visit to the US, after having short listed party members for the general elections in the Punjab.
Lahore, Aug.2 : Pakistan People's Party Chairwoman Benazir Bhutto will leave for New York today on a three-week visit to the US, after having short listed party members for the general elections in the Punjab.
Party sources in London said Bhutto had short listed party members from DG Khan, Rahimyar Khan and Multan on Wednesday.
She then left to meet her close associate Rehman Malik, the sources added.
During her stay in the US, Benazir will meet senior State Department officials and Congress Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is considered to be a close friend and supporter of Bhutto.
The Benazir-Pelosi meeting is important, because after the meeting, Benazir might announce the final date of her return to Pakistan.
