Peshawar, Aug 17 : Ten militants were killed by Pakistan Army gunship helicopters after a militant attack on a military convoy in the Chagmalai area of South Waziristan.

Three soldiers were killed and six were injured in the attack.

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Waheed Arshad said that the army convoy was heading towards Wana, the headquarters of South Waziristan from Tank.

He said that adequate security arrangements had been made at various places on the Tank-Wana road.

To provide enhanced security to soldiers, Pakistan Army gunship helicopters also flew over the convoy, The News reported.

When the convoy was passing through village of Bangash Wala, militants who had already taken positions there started indiscriminate firing with light and heavy weapons from either sides.
