Final Harry Potter book gives boom to UK libraries

Renowned author J. K. Rowlings last book in the Harry Potter series has triggered a massive library borrowing boom in the UK.

London, Aug. 13 : Renowned author J. K. Rowling's last book in the Harry Potter series has triggered a massive library borrowing boom in the UK.

Such were the readers' cravings for 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' that many queued overnight outside the 3,500 libraries to get their hands on the book.

Culture Secretary James Purnell says that it is an indication that the young generation is not just interested in playing video games.

"Young people love serious writing and are finding it right on their own doorstep, free, at local public libraries," The Mirror quoted him, as saying.
