Bollywood actor Naseer-ud-Din Shah starrer Khuda Ke Liye is now in the midst of a court row, following a petitioners charge that Muslims are being projected as extremists in the film.
Karachi, August 1 : Bollywood actor Naseer-ud-Din Shah starrer "Khuda Ke Liye" is now in the midst of a court row, following a petitioner's charge that Muslims are being projected as extremists in the film.
Sindh High Court Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and Justice Muhammad Afzal Soomro have asked petitioner Saifullah Rabbani to provide relevant quotes from the Quran and the Hadith to justify his claim.
According to the Daily Times, Rabbani, has stated that the film propagates European culture and ridicules Islamic values and Jihad.
The court has given him time till August 10 to prove his points.
"Khuda Ke Liye" released across Pakistan on July 20.
The screening of the movie was challenged in the Lahore High Court as day before.
Advocate M D Tahir had then said in his petition that the movie was an attempt to disturb law and order in Pakistan.
The film, starring Shah, Shaan, Iman Ali and Fawad Khan, is a Geo Films' project, and is aimed at reviving Pakistan's ailing film industry.
The film is about two pop musician brothers in Lahore, one of whom gets radicalised under the influence of extremists. The other goes to America and is unlawfully detained after 9/11. It is also the story of Mary (Maryam), a British girl of Pakistani origin, who is brought to Pakistan by her father and married off against her will.
