US court asks AICC president Sonia Gandhi to submit passport copy
March 20, 2014 - New York
A US court has asked the AICC president Sonia Gandhi to provide a copy of her passport to show that she was not in US between September 2 and September 9 last year.
Responding on a petition seeking dismissal of a human rights violation case against her a motion in a federal court in Brooklyn, New York saying that she was not in US and was not served the summons, the court directed her for the same.
Judge Brian M Cogan of Brooklyn Court on Thursday said that the declaration is not sufficient and directed to provide a copy of the passport showing her most recent entry and exit stamps into and out of the United States. "Whatever form this evidence takes, defendant must provide it by April 7, 2014" Judge Cogan ordered."
