Naxals gun down 15 police personnel

March 11, 2014 - New Delhi

Fifteen security personnel have been killed in a gun battle after Naxals ambushed a team in the Jagdalpur forest area in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday morning. The incident took place very close to the spot where 25 Congress top leaders were killed by them last year. Sources said that Naxals before opening fire first opened an explosion to stop a team of Central Reserve Police Force and State Police at around 10:30 today morning. The gun fire lasted to three hours and among the killed included are 11 from CRPF and three from the State police.
