  • A Naval officer was killed and a worker was injured after inhaling carbon dioxide gas which leaked from a container on an advanced warship, INS Kolkata. The leak is believed to have happened at 12:45 pm. Commander Kunal Wadhwa was killed in the incident, while MDL worker Aslam G Kazi was admitted to private hospital with illness.
  • Supreme Court of India has rejected the proposal of Sahara group to refund Rs. 20,000 crore of investors money. The Court called the offer an insult and asked Sahara to come out with an honourable plan. Subrata Roy will remain in Tihar jail till March 11.
  • Tehelka magazine's founder editor Tarun Tejpal's bail hearing was adjourned to March 12, 2014. Tejpal is facing charges of rape and sexual assault of a junior journalist.
  • National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained two people in Arwal district of Bihar. The police are questioning them in connection to serial bomb blasts in Bodh Gaya on July 7, 2013.
