Inquiry begins into the death of Sunanda Pushkar

An inquiry into the death of Sunanda Pushkar wife of Union Minister Shashi Tharoor began on Saturday. Sub Divisional Magistrate Alok Sharma recorded the statements of two domestic staff, a driver, brother of Pushkar and his son.
It may be recalled that a three member post-morteum team led by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Forensics head Sudir Gupta found the death as sudden and unnatural.
Diplomats and celebrities attend the cremation
Union Minister of State for Home RPN Singh, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit are some of the diplomats and celebrities attended the funeral of Sunanda Pushkar.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a letter said that "loss of one’s companion is indeed irreparable but I would like you to know that we are with you in this hour of grief." AICC president Sonia Gandhi called on Tharoor after the cremation and consoled him.
