India's first double-decker train in Mumbai

- The country's first double-decker train was launched in country's commercial capital Mumbai on Friday for public use.
- The Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) project will help passengers reduce their travel time from 90 minutes to 20 minutes now.
- The project was planned in 2002 and was under construction since 2006. It missed several deadlines but finally became operational on Friday. The project was built with a budget of Rs 4.54 billion with funding from World Bank.
- The double-decker train links the east and west city and also provides faster access to destinations like Pune, Goa and Nashik from the state.
