Goa Building collapse leave 11 workers killed, 30 injured

Eleven workers were killed and 30 injured when an under-construction five storeyed building at Chaudi in Cancona near Panaji collapsed on Saturday afternoon.
15 bodies were feared to have been trapped in the debris while nine bodies were removed from the site another 21 workers were rescued by the Army and civilians who were in rescue operations along with the State officials. Fire fighting personnel were searching for the survivors. It was told that people were working in all the floors.
It has become tough for the personnel attending for rescue operations as all the floors were collapsed suddenly. The injured were rushed to the Hospicio Hospital in Margao. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said an inquiry would go into the incident. The Chief Minister said that the building collapsed as one of its pillars raised on a paddy field, sank. He said those responsible will not be spared.
