Elections will be held in the second week of April, 2014

Informed sources said that the Lok Sabha elections for the States of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will be held either on April 7 or 10 and the election process will be completed by May 31. Elections will be declared on March 3 and schedule is likely in between 6 to 10.

Polling will be held for Lok Sabha and State Assemblies for Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim. indications indicate that they will be conducted in six to seven phases in April-May and the process will be completed by May end as the current term of Lok Sabha expires on May 31.

Model code of conduct will come into effect the moment it announces schedule for polls. The electorate of the country now stands at 81.4 with likely to add 9.7 core new voters and nearly 1.2 lakh security personnel needed for the general elections.
