February 22, 2014 - Guwahati
The Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi addressing a party meeting at Pasighat on Saturday urged China to shed its 'expansionist policy'. He said that no force on the earth could take away Arunachal Pradesh from India.
Modi said that it should adopt the policy of development. Times have changed. Earlier, expanding territories used to be hailed as a heroic act. Now, everywhere in the world, the people are against any expansionist attitude. The focus everywhere is on development. China too needs to change and shed its expansionist attitude.
Saying Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and it will remain so', he added that the people of the State never buckled under pressure from China and had displayed their patriotism and valour during the Indo-China war.
