Chief Minister Jayalalitha announces Rs.3 lakh compensation to the family of Umamaheswari

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa while expressing condolences and sympathy to the family of TCS techie Uma Maheswari announced Rs.3 lakh compensation from Chief Minister's General Relief Fund. It may be recalled that the police recovered the decomposed body of Maheswari in the SIPCOT campus at Siruseri on February 22.

CB-CID intensifies investigation

Sleuths from Crime Branch - Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) have intensified their efforts to nab the culprits by forming special teams Policemen formed a perimeter for about 200 metres around the spot where she was found dead. The perimeter, police said, was to make sure that no one other than the investigating policemen approached the area. The spot was watched throughout the night on Saturday and Sunday too. Dhaksha, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed at Anna University, was deployed to conduct a complete aerial survey of the spot and take pictures.
