Tata Capital Thanks Do Righters for Completing Aatmaram’s Half Story

Thanks to 'Do Righters', the supporters of the Half-Stories cause - an initiative by Tata Capital, the company has now successfully accomplished its first journey and the task of helping Gaddi community in its survival. Aatmaram and his tribe – the Gaddi – a nomadic community of shepherds, which constantly face the threat of their sheep being stolen or attacked by wild animals Half-Stories - the second phase of Tata Capital's Do Right campaign in association with the NGO United Way began with the half -story of Aatmaram and his tribe – the Gaddi – a nomadic community of shepherds, which constantly face the threat of their sheep being stolen or attacked by wild animals. Meanwhile they also have to struggle to survive in one of the world's coldest terrains, often in darkness in the wild. A survival kit comprising a tent, two solar lights and two sleeping bags have raised the chances of Gaddi tribe's survival To fight these conditions, all that Aatmaram and his community needed was a donation of Rs. 11,500 which could buy them a survival kit comprising a tent, two solar lights and two sleeping bags. Supporters who came forward and did their bit have not only armed the Gaddi community to endure inhospitable conditions but also a chance at survival and a safe life. The Tata Capital Do Right team commenced the 2000km journey, starting from Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh all the way to Guwahati in Assam. Across the journey, the team will identify simple, everyday stories of people and place these stories, through photographs and videos, on the Do Right website(www.doright.in) and the Do Right Facebook page(www.facebook.com/doright.in). Tata Capital, will reach out via digital media, specifically social media, to make people aware of these ‘half-stories’, detailing how they may support a cause in order to complete the story successfully. The initiative is in partnership with United Way of Mumbai, a prominent NGO.
