  • Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghost tweeted that the party would ask Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to step down and call for a peoples mandate on the government's new policies.
  • Anti-Corruption crusader Anna Hazare and social activist Arvind Kejriwal will meet today in New Delhi. Hazare will take the opinion of the India Against Corruption activists to decide his future course of action.
  • A cardiologist, Sanjeev Dhawan, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants at 2:45 am in central Delhi. The police have registered a case and are investigating. Dhawan is a cardiologist at Sir Ganga Ram hospital in Rajinder Nagar.
  • DMK, the largest ally of the UPA after TMC's exit will not pull out of the coalition according to party sources. They will however participate in the bandh on September 20.
