Kejriwal meets Hazare for the first time after rift

October 1, 2012 - New Delhi

Despite the rift between anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare and 'India Against Corruption' activist Arvind Kejriwal, the two have met in Delhi this morning.

Arvind Kejriwal has reached out to Anna Hazare seeking his blessings, a day before he announced his political party. Speaking after the meeting, Kejriwal said that their ways may be different but the destination is the same. This is their first meeting after the rift. The meeting came as a surprise since it was not announced earlier. Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia drove to ND Tiwari Bhavan near ITO to meet Hazare. "We had come to meet him. The relationship with him will always remain and there is no quarrel between us. The objective is the same but the paths to get there are different," Kejriwal said.

Arvind Kejriwal is the preferred aide of Anna Hazare in the anti-corruption movement, but both have parted ways after Kejriwal announced his firm intention to form a political party in the fight against corruption. Hazare has since then disassociated himself with Kejriwal and banned him from using name and photos in his campaigns.

Anna Hazare is in New Delhi meeting his supporters and social activists like Medha Patkar to chalk out his future course of action. Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal is prepping up to announce his political party tomorrow which would coincide with Gandhi Jayanthi.
