Karnataka Governor Bhardwaj says tainted ministers included in the new Shettar led government

July 13, 2012 - Bangalore

Karnataka Governor HR Bhardwaj today said that the Jagadish Shettar led Government in Karnataka has some ministers who have tainted record. Bhardwaj said that Shettar has included the ministers ignoring his advice into his cabinet.

Bhardwaj had a running battle with former Chief Minister BS Yedyurappa. He has raised concerns on the corruption in the government during Yedyurappa's regime. However the latest criticism came in open when he openly said that the new Chief Minister Shettar has ignored his advice and included the ministers who have tainted records because the list was approved by the BJP high command. "I can always guide, advise and suggest, but ultimately the governance is their's. So whatever list they sent me in writing, I approved," he said.

The Karnataka Governor however has heaps of praise on Sadananda Gowda and was reportedly unhappy when Sadananda was asked to resign.

Meanwhile, the new Chief Minister has already started reviewing the drought situation in the state. He has directed the officials today to prepare contingency plans to face the conditions. He also released Rs. 136 crore for relief works.
