Ghaziabad Sessions Court to hear Aarushi murder trial

May 16, 2012 - Ghaziabad

Exactly four years to the day when 16-year old Aarushi Talwar was found murdered in her bed, a special CBI Court in Ghaziabad will conduct a trial of the accused after multiple court hearings.

The lower court had on Monday adjourned the hearing while asking the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to hand over a CD and other related documents to the Talwars.

Nupur and Rajesh Talwar are demanding the call details of Krishna, Rajkumar and Vijay Mandal, who were initially arrested in the case. The couple also want the statements of all police officers who have investigated the case.

The CBI has given the statement of Data Ram Nanoria, the first investigating officer in the case, to the Talwars. The couple had asked for call records and narco analysis tests of Krishna as well. The judge made no mention of it in the order.

Nupur Talwar's bail will also come up today in the Allahabad High Court.

The Supreme Court is also due to hear the Talwars' review petition to quash charges against them today. The apex court, in its previous hearing, had termed Nupur's plea premature.

Aarushi was murdered on the intervening night of May 16-17, 2008 at her Noida residence and the body of the Talwars' domestic help, Hemraj, was found on the terrace of the house the next day.
