Baba Ramdev to continue fast


August 12, 2012 - New Delhi

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev gave an ultimatum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene and bring the black money back to the country. Addressing a huge crowd gathered at the Ramlila Maidan, Ramdev announced that he was continuing the fast and gave till this evening for the Prime Minister to announce his stand on the issue. Ramdev said that he will announce on Monday morning when he will end the fast.

Ramdev has written to the Prime Minister listing all his demands that included bringing back the black money to the country, strong Lokpal bill, independent status to the CBI and transparent process in electing the heads of CBI and Election Commission.

Former Army chief General VK Singh who warned of a big revolution if the demands are not met appeared on the stage with Ramdev today. Singh, earlier has shared the dais with Team Anna members at the Jantar Mantar earlier this month.

Ramdev earlier announced that he will end the fast on Saturday.
