First Vice President of Afghanistan to visit India for three days

The First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim, will arrive here on Thursday on a three-day visit.

Fahim will arrive at the Air Force Station, Palam, around 2 p.m. External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna would call on the visiting dignitary at Hotel Oberoi around 4 p.m.

Fahim will meet Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari on Friday morning. He will also call on President Pratibha Devisingh Patil later in the day.

The visiting dignitary will meet the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, at his 7 Race Course Road residence at around 4: 30 p.m. on Friday. Vice President Ansari would host a banquet in honour of Afghanistan's First Vice President at Hyderabad House on Friday evening.

Fahim will depart for Kabul on Saturday morning.
