Film on Delhi Metro screened at IFFI

December 3, 2011 - Panji

The Delhi Metro has become a symbol of civil engineering pride, but for the engineering team, to complete 125 kms of network in the phase II of the project in just four and a half years of time was a herculean task.

In fact, it is precisely this which has been impressively depicted in the film 'The Dream Fulfilled- Memories of Engineering Challenges' screened at the 42nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) today.

The film directed by Satish Pande showcases the challenges faced by the engineering team at various corridors and how the task was accomplished before the Commonwealth Games of 2010.

To give it a more realistic effect, the problems have been depicted with 3D animation.

It is also a success story of a mega project which has made life easier for commuters of Delhi and its neighboring townships.

The film is a piece of learning for the engineering students as well as engineers involved in different cities where mass rapid transit system and other mega structural engineering project work is going on.
