New Delhi, Jan 30 : Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's appeal to the Maoists to give up arms and come for talks seems to have hurt the ultra left wing cadres, which is being reflected in blogs and websites sympathetic to them.
Of late, blogs and websites sympathetic to the Maoist ideology have started criticising Chidambaram.
In a sarcastic criticism in one of the latest post, which is said to be a letter addressed to Chidambaram, the blogger states: "As Prime Minister stated few months ago that the poverty will be rooted out from the country, we understand that there is an urgent need to eliminate the poor people and Operation Green Hunt is a romantic idea to achieve it."
The letter also criticised democratic set up and elections in the country.
"We would also like to congratulate your obsessiveness for democracy and democratic setup in this era, where everyone is busy bringing their kins and relatives for politics," it added.
"As you have stated many times violence is not acceptable in democracy; of course it excludes state sponsored violence, right?" the letter questioned.
Earlier, in the day, a private news channel reported that Maoists have put conditions for talks.
Quoting Maoist spokesperson Gopal, the report said the Centre should remove all security forces from the Maoist-controlled areas, should release all political prisoners from jails across the nation- these include the likes of Maoist ideologue Kobad Ghandy to make talks happen.
Maoists also reported that all memorandum of understanding (MOU)s with companies should be cancelled in Maoist affected areas.
Gopal also demanded to put a stop to all operations being carried out against Maoists.
Home Minister Chidambaram has repeatedly said that no operations were being launched and the Centre was only assisting the states to fight Naxals.
