FORE School of Management in Association with NHRD Conducts B-School Conclave: Moving To The Next Orbit

Shri Kapil Sibal, Honourable Union Minister for HRD and Telecom inaugurated the 14th National HRD Conference began at the Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon today. The 3 day conference around the theme of “Towards the Next Orbit” is being attended by about 1200 CEOs, Business Leaders & HR Professionals from entire spectrum of Industry from India and abroad and Management Students.

Keeping in mind the post recession challenges for the B-Schools in India and abroad a deliberation by the thought leaders from B-Schools and the corporate world was designed to bring forth the actionable point as a part of this conference. Directors/Deans/Professors of top B-Schools and CEOs/Presidents/Vice-Presidents/Senior Executives from very well respected corporate organizations shared their views.

The day long conclave, part of the 14th National HRD Conference was a brain storming session which was convened by Dr. Jitendra Das, Director, FORE School of Management comprised panel discussions on “Curriculum and Pedagogy Relevance”, “Research Output in Association with Industry” and “Governance Issues at B Schools”.

Some of the leading lights from Industry and Academia addressed the gathering – including Dr Anadi Pande (VP - Corporate Strategy and HR, Hero Honda), Mr Aquil Busrai (Former Executive Director-HR, IBM), Mr Chandan Chattaraj, (Chief Human Resources officer, Aircel Ltd), Mr Mohan Krishnan, (Sr VP, IMRB), Mr R P Ojha, (ED, Powergrid Corporation), Prof Asha Bhandarker, (MDI, Gurgaon), Prof M J Xavier,(Director, IIM Ranchi), Prof Upinder Dhar, (Vice Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University), and Mr Premchand Palety (CEO C fore) among others.

Dr. Jitendra Das said, “It is an unstated responsibility of the B Schools to transform students from a raw talent to a highly skilled management professional. The construct and implementation of curriculum, the pedagogy, the knowledge imparted and social sensitivity play very important roles in this, especially as Indian corporate goes global. In this context the research input to the curriculum and ability to adapt to the environmental changes are of utmost importance to a B-School if they have to stay upfront in this competitive setting and hence this conclave.
