Almost five weeks after undergoing coronary bypass surgery, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will undertake his first official engagement on Tuesday when he holds talks with President Boni Yayi of Benin at his residence.
New Delhi, Mar. 3 : Almost five weeks after undergoing coronary bypass surgery, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will undertake his first official engagement on Tuesday when he holds talks with President Boni Yayi of Benin at his residence.
Official sources claimed that Dr. Singh would hold delegation-level discussions with the leader of the West African nation and oversee signing of some agreements.
The talks will take place at the Prime Minister's residence and not at the usual venue of such events, the Hyderabad House.
Singh, 76, has been attending to urgent official work from his home but the talks with President of Benin will mark his first official engagement.
Dr. Singh underwent a 'redo' coronary artery bypass surgery to remove five blockages in his heart at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on February 24.
He is recuperating well as the post-operative tests have been positive.
