South Indian film star Rajnikanth on Monday denied any plans to join politics.
Chennai, Nov 4 : South Indian film star Rajnikanth on Monday denied any plans to join politics.
While addressing a gathering of his fans in Chennai, Rajnikanth, who enjoys a huge fan following amongst masses in south India, said he was not ready to take a plunge into politics as of now.
" I don't take up anything in life without understanding it fully. In the early days of my film career, when I was struggling without money, I did not ask for films. I decided to understand films first, so I went and studied acting in an institute for two years and only after that I entered the film industry," said Rajnikanth.
" Similarly in other things also, I cannot take up anything without having knowledge about it. This holds for politics also. Like a forced marriage will not do a couple any good, forcing a political career on me when I am not ready will not work either," added the superstar.
The actor was recently asked by his fans to enter politics and in few places in Tamil Nadu some fans had also used his photographs and introduced party's logo without his approval.
The superstar's fans said they would support him if he chose to dabble in politics.
"In film industry he is a superstar, and if he enters politics, there also he will be a superstar. He will work for people. He will work to root out the problems in politics and will provide good governance, so we will support him," said Thayumanavan.
Rajnikanth's personal life reads like a movie script. He started as a poor bus conductor with a penchant for acting before making it big.
