The Supreme Court today issued notice to Bihar Government on a petition filed by Union Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav challenging the Patna High Courts decision to admit the States appeal against his acquittal in the fodder scam case.

New Delhi, May 9 : The Supreme Court today issued notice to Bihar Government on a petition filed by Union Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav challenging the Patna High Court's decision to admit the State's appeal against his acquittal in the fodder scam case.

Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi contended that the State government had no locus standi to file an appeal in the case which had been investigated and prosecuted by the CBI.

The CBI had also challenged the High Court's decision.
