BJP woos minorities and claims they look upto their party

The Chief Ministerial candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) B. S Yediyurappa on Wednesday offered the sops and hopes of cabinet berth to minorities.

Bangalore, May 7 : The Chief Ministerial candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) B. S Yediyurappa on Wednesday offered the sops and hopes of cabinet berth to minorities.

He was addressing a press conference in Bangalore.

"We are going to form the majority government in Karnataka. The electioneering is working towards it and we have covered more than 150 constituencies. People response has been very good and I am 100 per cent sure that we're going to repeat the same Gujarat result in Karnataka and we're going to form the government," asserted Yediyurappa.

"Many senior politicians including non-Hindus, minority communities and others are joining BJP as such our popularity is on the rise," added Yediyurappa.

As the poll fever and campaigning touch the peak for the first phase of the ensuing elections to the Karnataka legislature, the candidates accelerate their attempts to woo supporters through all means.

BJP claim that the minorities look upto them and promise cabinet berths to members of Muslim community, if elected to power.

For the BJP the Karnataka Assembly elections will be an acid test.

However, the BJP has not fielded a single candidate from Muslim community.
