Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the passing away of tabla maestro Pandit Kishan Maharaj.

New Delhi, May 6 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the passing away of tabla maestro Pandit Kishan Maharaj.

In his condolence message the Prime Minister said that in the death of Kishan Maharaj, the nation has lost one of the finest tabla players whose career spanned over half a century.

"Pandit Kishan Maharaj's contribution as a master tabla player would always be remembered by generations to come," he said.
