Amritsar May 6, : As the U.S President George Bush's recent remarks evoked widespread criticism in India, it gave the Amritsar's Idiots' Club a chance to take a jibe at him on Tuesday. Member of the Idiots' club attired in Uncle Sam's dress, staged a street play at city's Novelty Chowk and attracted several passer-bys in their support.
The onlookers were all smiles watching two members of the Idiots' club acting as Uncle Sam stuffing their bellies with hamburgers and cold drinks while thrashing a poor man setting next to him on the floor with torn off clothes.
"We, the Idiots, have our own way to express public sentiment over the recently uncalled for remarks by the U.S President George Bush," said Dr. Mandeep, a member of the Idiots' club. olding placards in their hands, the members of the club shouted slogan against the U.S President George Bush.Rajinder Rikhi, the President of the Idiot club said: "Average food grain consumption per person in the U.S is nearly 2,500 kilogram whereas it is as low as 450 Kg in India. Even than the U.S President calls Indians responsible food crisis. It is Americans who need to mind their eating habits."
Rikhi said it is pity that the U.S President is unaware of his own people's diet, hence I invite him to join our Idiots' club.
US President Bush had said during a visit to World Wide Technology, Inc. in Missouri that there are 350 million people in India who are classified as middle class. Their middle class is larger than our entire population. And when you start getting wealth, you start demanding better nutrition and better food. And so demand is high, and that causes the price to go up.
Naresh Johar, a resident of Amritsar said it is interesting to notice, the Idiot club, is expressing the general public's anguish over the U. S President, who insulted the Indians with his irresponsible remarks. he Idiots' Club is a group of people in Amritsar that is known for its take on current events.
Idiots' Club has over 200 members including doctors, engineers and individuals associated with general professions.
