Peace March in support of Tibet

Hundreds of activist of various organizations on Saturday took out a peace March in support of Tibetan cause in the heart of Amritsar.

Amritsar May 3, : Hundreds of activist of various organizations on Saturday took out a "peace March" in support of Tibetan cause in the heart of Amritsar.

Supporters from Amritsar, New Delhi, Dharmshala and even from England participated in the peace march and took out a candle light rally in the evening.

The protesters holding placards, portraits of Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi and flag of Tibet in their hands raised slogans like "Stop cultural genocide in Tibet", "May peace prevail on earth", "Save Tibet".

Talking to media, Chime Young Dung, president of National Democratic Party of Tibet, said: "By taking out such peace march we would like to attract the attention of the world about the atrocities has been done by the China Government upon Tibetans. He demands that first of all world leaders intervene the issue and Olympic should not be played in China." Another activist from England Cathy said that there is grim situation in Tibet. She said that we are peace living people and by taking out such peace march and rallies we want people from all over the world should joins us to save Tibet and Tibetans.

The activitists started the peace march from Dharmshala and they intend to conclude it in Tibet. By Ravinder Singh Robin
