President Pratibha Patil will arrive here this afternoon on a six-day visit.
Shimla, May 27 : President Pratibha Patil will arrive here this afternoon on a six-day visit.
President Patil is arriving here from Jammu and Kashmir, where she is presently on tour.
On Wednesday, President Patil will be given a civic reception at the Ridge, which will be attended by Governor V.S. Kokje, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and Mayor Narinder Kataria.
It is after the gap of four years that the President is coming to Shimla to stay at the official summer residence "the Retreat". Earlier, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam visited Shimla in 2004.
The President is scheduled to visit Manali on May 29. On June 1, she will return to New Delhi.
Tight security arrangements have been made in view of her visit.
