Priya Dutt, a member of parliament remembered her father and Bollywood actor Sunil Dutt a day before his third death anniversary here on Sunday.
Mumbai, May 25 : Priya Dutt, a member of parliament remembered her father and Bollywood actor Sunil Dutt a day before his third death anniversary here on Sunday.
Sunil Dutt, an actor, producer and director, was also the country's Cabinet Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports.
People close to Sunil Dutt and his family paid tribute to the man who shot to stardom in the 1957 with his film 'Mother India' in which he co-starred with Nargis, whom he married on March 11, 1958.
One of the major stars of Bollywood in the late 1950s and 1960s, Dutt gave a string of hits like Sadhna (1958), Sujata (1959), Mujhe Jeene Do (1963), Khandaan (1965) and Padosan (1967) to name a few.
Priya, his daughter, said: "Every year we do something or the other on his death anniversary. It's a way for every one to remember him and I think all his fans and the people he has been associated with like Krishna Hegdeji, who has organised this programme with kids in the St Catherine's Home. So, everywhere, such a man who touched so many peoples lives. So, I think it's just a way to remember him."
Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon said: "Dutt Sahib has been a very close family member always, Priya and their whole family are our family friends and Krishna Krishna Hegde who has organised this remembrance is also my friend from college. For occasions like these, no invitation is needed. All should just walk in for occasions like this."
Priya Dutt, Namrata Dutt and Raveena Tandon spent time with underprivileged children on the eve of Dutt's death anniversary.
