New Delhi, May 14 : Heavy duststorm followed by rains uprooted many trees and disrupted normal life in New Delhi today.

Office-goers faced a tough time reaching their destinations as heavy rains lashed the city from 9 am.

"Due to cyclonic circulation over North India, a big patch of dark clouds enveloped the sky causing rains and dust storms in the city. There will be rains throughout the day," a Met official said.

The maximum temperature of the day was 37.9 degree Celsius while minimum temperature dropped to 26.8 degree Celsius from Tuesday's 27.3 degrees Celsius.

Sky will remain partly cloudy and thunderstorms are likely to occur in the later part of the day. The maximum temperature is expected to be 38 degrees Celsius during the day, the Met official added.
