At least four died in IKashmir on Saturday when a bus fell into a deep gorge in Doda district.

Doda (Jammu and Kashmir), May 10 : At least four died in IKashmir on Saturday when a bus fell into a deep gorge in Doda district.

The bus fell into the deep gorge of about 110 feet at village Baswal about 19 kilometres from Doda.

According to official sources at least 4 died in the incident and 5 passengers have been airlifited.

"According to information, there were 18 people in the bus. Four passengers have died and five have been air lifted," said Khurshed Ahmed Butt, Deputy Commissioner, Doda.

They were airlifted to Jammu Government Medical College and 12 other injured are being treated in District Hospital Doda.

According to one of the injured person, around 25 passengers were travelling in the bus and he said that break failure could be the reason for the bus falling into the gorge.

"There were 20-25 people. The cause of the accident could be break failure. I don't remember what actually happened," said Mohd Rafiq, one of the injured bus passengers.

It is the second tragic incident in the district.

At least 28 people were killed on Thursday when a bus veered off a mountain road and fell into the Chenab river.
