Rabender Singh Mathoda has taken over as the Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) with effect from today.Mathoda belongs to the 1971 batch of the Indian Revenue Service.
New Delhi, May 1 : Rabender Singh Mathoda has taken over as the Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) with effect from today.Mathoda belongs to the 1971 batch of the Indian Revenue Service.
Prior to his appointment, Mathoda was Member (IT) and Member (A and J) in the CBDT.
He has served in various capacities in the Income Tax Department as Chief Commissioner in North Western Region (NWR), Shimla and Kolkata and as Commissioner in NWR, Mumbai and Gwalior.
A graduate from IIT Kharagpur, Mathoda has interest, among other things, in travel and trekking, photography and reading.
