New Delhi, Mar 6 : President Pratibha Patil on Thursday accepted the resignation of S M Krishna as Maharashtra Governor and appointed Goa Governor S C Jamir to discharge additional duties of Maharashtra Governor.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna resigned as Maharashtra's Governor to return to active politics in his home state.
