On the last day of his four-day tour of Karnataka, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi spent some time at a slum cluster of Raichur district.

Raichur (Karnataka), Mar 28 : On the last day of his four-day tour of Karnataka, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi spent some time at a slum cluster of Raichur district.

On the outskirts of Raichur, Rahul Gandhi stopped at a roadside makeshift home of a factory worker.

The wife of the factory worker, Buddama and her three kids interacted with him and during their interaction he asked the mother whether one of the childern was suffering from some ailment in his eyes.

Buddama told him that due to poverty she couldn't take her child to the doctor, listening this he called on one of the Youth Congress activists to make necessary arrangement for the family.

According to eyewitnesses of the incident, Buddama was very happy to have Rahul Gandhi at her slum dwelling unit, but was sad because she had nothing to offer him to eat.

During his visit to Raichur, he interacted with women self help groups and had a meeting with party leaders and workers.

The second leg of Rahul Gandhi's Discovery of India tour has been marked by fewer public meetings. He has been meeting groups and during his interaction focusing on governance and problems of poverty.
